Community health is a discipline that concerns itself with the study and betterment of the health characteristics of communities. While the term community can be broadly defined, community health tends to focus on geographic areas rather than people with shared characteristics. The health characteristics of a community are often examined using geographic information system (GIS) software and public health datasets. Some projects, such as InfoShare or GEOPROJ combine GIS with existing datasets, allowing the general public to examine the characteristics of any given community in the United States.Because health (broadly defined as well-being) is influenced by a wide array of socio-demographic characteristics, relevant variables range from the proportion of residents of a given age group to the overall life expectancy of the neighborhood. Medical interventions aimed at improving the health of a community range from improving access to medical care to public health communication! s campaigns. Recent research efforts have focused on how the built environment and socioeconomics|socio-economic status affect health.

National Wine Centre of Australia[Konwledge of Wine]

National_Wine_Centre_of_Australia

and beyond
The National Wine Centre of Australia (commonly the "Wine Centre") is situated at the end of North Terrace, Adelaide|North Terrace, Adelaide|Adelaide's 'cultural boulevard', in the East Adelaide Parklands and adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The Wine Centre has an interactive permanent exhibition of winemaking, introducing visitors to the technology, varieties and styles of wine. It also has a wine tasting area, giving visitors the opportunity to taste and compare wines from different areas of Australia. The building is designed and uses building materials to reflect items used in making wine. The external of the building looks like a section of a wine barrel. Outside the building are rows of Vitis vinifera|grapevines, showing seven different varieties of grapes to curious visitors who normally wouldn't have access to a vineyard to see the differences for themselves. Its development by the John Olsen|Olsen Liberal Party of Australia|Liberal State Government was shroude! d in controversy and it was labelled as a white elephant by the Australian Labor Party|Opposition. It eventually opened on 7 October 2001 after enabling legislation created the concept in the ''National Wine Centre Act (1997)''.After a number of problems with funding, management and profitability, the Wine Centre operation was taken over by the University of Adelaide on July 1 2003. It now offers some of the university's oenology courses, as well as the public face of the wine industry in Australia.

Douglas_Iris

The Douglas Iris, ''Iris douglasiana'', is a common and attractive wildflower of the coastal regions of Northern and Central California and southern Oregon. The names ''Iris beecheyana'' and ''I. watsoniana'' have also been used for this plant, but ''Iris douglasiana'' has precedence. The Douglas Iris grows mainly at lower elevations, below 100 metres, though it is occasionally found at heights of up to 1000 metres. It is most common in grasslands near the coasts; it is regarded as a noxious weed in pastures, because it forms clumps that inhibit other vegetation, and its Leaf|leaves are bitter and unpalatable to cattle. This is a typical beardless Iris of subgenus ''Limniris'', series ''Californicae'', growing from a rhizome that is typically under a centimetre in diameter. Its leaves are about 2 cm wide. It flowers from April to June. Flowers are usually a purplish-blue, though occasionally white or yellow flowers are found. Two or three flowers are found on each stem, which ! is of variable height, ranging from 15-80 cm tall.Several varieties have been recognised, for example ''Iris douglasiana'' var. ''altissima'' (Jeps.) and ''Iris douglasiana'' var. ''oregonensis'' (R. C. Foster), but the species is highly variable and the varieties may not be well enough defined to be of much practical use. The Douglas Iris hybridises freely with several other species; its natural hybrid with ''Iris innominata|I. innominata'' has been designated as ''Iris ×thompsonii'' (R. C. Foster), and the garden hybrid with the same species as ''Iris ×aureonympha'' (E. H. English).

Debt snowball method

Debt snowball method[Finance]

Debt_snowball_method

The debt-snowball method of debt repayment applies best to revolving accounts such as credit cards--* List all debts in ascending order from smallest balance to largest.
* Commit to pay the minimum payment on every debt.
* Determine how much extra can be applied towards the smallest debt.
* Pay the minimum payment plus the extra amount towards that smallest debt until it is paid off.
* Then, add the old minimum payment from the first debt to the extra amount, and apply the new sum to the second smallest debt. Repeat until all debts are paid in full. Some financial advisors suggest a variation of this strategy in which the debts are listed in descending order according to the interest rate that is charged. The idea is to reduce the debts that are growing the fastest in order to minimize the total amount of interest paid. Others recommend paying the debts that cause the most worry or stress.Ultimately, the best choice depends on the situation and outlook of the debtor. Those who are unsure of their ability to stick with the plan may want to pay the smallest debt first, because the thrill of eliminating an entire balance sooner may encourage them to continue. If an interest-free loan from a sibling or parent has gone unpaid for so long that it threatens to destroy a relationship, it would be a logical first choice for repayment.
